Triángulo is an independent production company based in Medellín, Colombia. It explores alternative models of film production grounded in small-scale structures that ensure the sustainable continuity of its projects. The company has produced both feature-length and short films, often working with a consistent group of collaborators across projects, strengthening collective authorship and continuity.
In 2018, Triángulo produced Los mayores ríos se deslizan bajo tierra, directed by Simón Vélez, which premiered at the Locarno Film Festival, where it received a Special Jury Mention. The film was subsequently screened at festivals and institutions including Mar del Plata, New Directors/New Films (MoMA and Lincoln Center), FICUNAM, and Valdivia. In 2020, Triángulo co-produced Los Conductos, directed by Camilo Restrepo, which premiered at the Berlinale and won the Best First Feature Award. In 2022, Triángulo produced the short film Los mayores ríos se deslizan bajo tierra, directed by Simón Vélez, which premiered at FIDMarseille and later received the Best Short Film Award at the Valdivia Film Festival, in addition to screenings at the New York Film Festival, Viennale, and Mar del Plata. In 2024, Triángulo produced Pepe, directed by Nelson Carlo De Los Santos, which premiered in the Berlinale Competition and won the Silver Bear for Best Director. In 2026, Triángulo will premiere Piedras preciosas, directed by Simón Vélez, at the Berlinale.
